Amen. The #Txlege House #SchoolChoice bill last year was a fiscally irresponsible mess that only gave ESAs to about 0.5% of Texas students. We must pass a universal bill that gives ESA to EVERY family who wants on. Because EVERY student deserves a quality education.

For years, politicians in both parties have acted like inflation had been permanently tamed, that low interest rates meant that borrowing was cheap and easy, and that it appeared there would be no consequences for soaring deficits. This was not true. reason.com/2024/09/07/howโ€ฆ

43 of 45 (95%) of economists recently surveyed by The University of Chicago agreed that "Imposing tariffs results in a substantial portion of the tariffs being borne by consumers of the country that enacts the tariffs, through price increases." (The only "disagree" actually said "it depends")

Good try to use your journalism to do math, better luck for a serious rebuttal next time. If you understood the state budget, then youโ€™d know that a budget surplus is tax revenue exceeding spending, not one-time tax revenue that goes away. If #txlege limits spending to at most

Scott, I'll refrain from copying your your spurious ad hominem attack on Vance Ginn. But your argument is not serious policy or journalism. Texas' general revenue grows on average 6% per biennium. That's a 20 year average. If the state keeps spending growth below that, and why
