📍Nairobi, 22 May Operation Commander EUNAVFOR ATALANTA participated in the UN "Contact Group on Illicit Maritime Activities in the Western Indian Ocean" forum. The new geopolitical situation in the Area of Operations and the way ahead of ATALANTA were the main topics during his presentation.

On 12 June, EUNAVFOR ATALANTA ATALANTA signed a Coordination and Cooperation Protocol with مركز الأمن البحري| MARITIME SECURITY CENTRE in Muscat.   This signature showcases the cooperation with Oman for maintaining and enhancing maritime security in the region.

During his visit to Oman, Operation Commander EUNAVFOR ATALANTA met with the under-secretary for diplomatic and politic affairs, H.E. Sheikh Khalifa Al-Harty. Vice Admiral Villanueva expressed his gratitude for the support received from Oman, and they discussed about possible further collaboration.
