#OnThisDay 1664 King Charles II sanctioned the formation of the Duke of York & Albany’s Maritime Regiment of foot. Renamed in 1802 to Royal Marines
they have provided Royal Navy with arguably the greatest Capability of its kind in the world for 359 years. Happy Birthday Royal.
