I put off reading The Shining by Stephen King for years as I’m such a coward when it comes to horror. My extremely late review is it’s an absolute masterpiece, + I’m off now to lie with my eyes wide open, jumping at every single sound #booktwitter amzn.eu/8UVBBMy

Just finished "Women vs Hollywood: The Fall and Rise of Women in Film" by Helen O'Hara . Depressing yet inspiring, a real call to arms. Essential reading for anyone interested in the history of cinema and where it could be heading. amzn.eu/5PL5yMg
I’ve watched this band develop over the years and now they’re on the verge of a No. 1 album. So, c’mon everyone, let’s get Leigh’s very own Lottery Winners over the line by Friday. Download the brilliant new album Anxiety Replacement Therapy - NOW!👇🏻 thelotterywinners.lnk.to/DownloadsSR
Just finished The Theory of Everything Else by Dan Schreiber , it’s lucky he explicitly warns against being sucked into any of the many conspiracies detailed here, because this book is so much fun that they seem awfully tempting… amzn.eu/bFUSdup
Just finished Colditz: Prisoners of the Castle, I think this may be Ben Macintyre finest book so far. Ridiculously readable, and thrilling, if it was fiction, you’d accuse it of being far-fetched amzn.eu/1gCyqb4
Just finished But What Can I Do?, terrific stuff by ALASTAIR CAMPBELL , interesting, daunting and inspiring amzn.eu/e0bsjVC
Read Mortification by Mark Watson, still here but very much also Bluesky expecting the usual comedian’s book of funny anecdotes around a vague theme, & for the first 3 chapters it was, before becoming something altogether more confessional and existential, & really quite remarkable. amzn.eu/8q6aWDG
Just finished Politics On the Edge by Rory Stewart A political memoir that reads like a thriller, the final leadership debate (spoiler: he doesn’t become prime minister) has echoes of the denouement of a Le Carre novel. Excellent stuff amzn.eu/bdBPJuc
