It warms my heart how advertizers used to understand what made Thomas endearing to kids "The expressions are easy to grasp!" "Thomas is a gentle teacher."

Early 2004 was the best time for Thomas in my opinion classic series had concluded the merch was amazing and there was no Hit era yet my personal favorite to bad I was 1 during that time tho

They removed CD/DVD drives from devices. They made physical media harder to buy and use. They removed expandable storage from phones. They pushed us into streaming subscriptions. They made always-online normal. They made unlimited internet necessary. Then slowly raised the price

They're starting to figure it out

I feel like younger people don't realize that the internet wasn't always optimized solely to make you as angry and miserable as possible, and people are having a lot of nostalgia for 2000s internet vibes now because it wasn't like that back then
