What do you do when they come to your home
and they tell you your land is no longer your own
do you let them take it, do you dare to resist

Thanks Dublin Commuters for fixing this saddening 'safety' advice to parents. We should all be advocating for healthy, independent travel for all ages.

We’re in the midst of a and a joint inactivity and obesity epidemic.

We need to be building activity into children’s daily lives, not remove every inch of it.

This is yet another example of why the RSA Ireland are not fit for purpose.

The RSA Ireland ‘Going to school’ leaflet.

Absolute madness.

Growing up in Norway, I walked 2.5km to school on a semi rural road from the age of 7. I cycled on the same road from the age of 10. According to the RSA’s ‘research’, that was dangerous.

Words elude me reading this.

N2O is a potent greenhouse gas with atmospheric warming potential almost 300 times that of CO2.

However, most N2O delivered to hospitals never make it to a patient.

This is a huge step in the right direction!

We drive on the left in Ireland, but apparently we cycle on the right for some reason.

The pinch point where cyclists have to yield to one another simply isn't good enough.

It might be better than most cycle lanes in Dublin, but it is far from good enough.

What the Liffey could feel and look like if we prioritised people over private cars.

This example might lack a bit of greenery, but the craftsmanship and materials used are 1000 x times better than what we are getting in Dublin.

Cycling home from work towards Dublin City centre during rush hour, I will never stop being amazed by the enormous amount of single-occupancy private cars.

It is a sign of a failed transport system.

won't fix this, nor the metro.

We need a cycling revolution!

Parking and taxi ranks prioritised over cycle lanes…

DCC could have tried a new, more sustainable approach where pedestrians and cyclists were truly prioritised, but instead they went with the business as usual approach + tokenistic greenery.

Do we need to change the way we measure road safety? eg the number of children who don't cycle because it's not safe to do so

Yes, thousands of people hiking up the mountain every year will cause some damage but the reason Croagh Patrick remains a barren, naked, and crumbling mountain, is overgrazing.

Sadhbh O' Neill - 🍉End genocide now hits the nail on the head in her article on road safety. What works - 30KPH speed limit, active travel infrastructure, enforcement. What doesn’t work - high vis, politely asking drivers to slow down

It's safe to say that Dublin lack any real ambition when it comes to .

The French turned Paris into a cycling city in a matter of years.

Dublin will remain consumed by cars in 2040 by the looks of things.

We need a dramatic paradigm shift.

🇫🇷 More people travel by bicycle than by car in Paris.

🇮🇪 For comparison, Dublin are aiming to have a modal share of 12% cycling and 48% private cars in 2042!!!

Today, only 4% of trips in Dublin are by bike...
