School leaders are having to make really difficult decisions. We all want children who can safely stay at home to be there, while teachers look after the most vulnerable and children of key workers. I'm confident heads up and down the country are making the right judgements. 2/4

Parents need to hear the message: keep children at home if at all possible. Support the decisions your child's school are making. They are working to keep everyone safe and slow the spread of COVID-19. 3/4

Our own efforts have been focused on the acute need in children's social care system to keep children's homes open. We will be getting HMI out into schools and councils in the coming days. Thank you again to everyone working in education and care. 4/4
