Does anybody know what this is? There were loads of them on the beach today. I thought at first they were plastic, but apparently not.

Seaweed salad -picked, marinated and eaten in the gorgeous February sunshine. The new season sea spaghetti and dulse was an absolute delight.

Fascinated to read StaceyTillott’s insights on the values involved in buying decisions beyond the products themselves. For Octopus’s Garden Seaweed, it’s about interest and experience – not just a delicious food product.

Neighbouring green splodges getting on famously in their rockpool! One is Sea Lettuce, and the other a beautiful Snakelocks anemone. Tricks up this anemone's sleeve include having photosynthetic cells in their tentacles and reproducing by splitting themselves in half!

Having only found pepper dulse in small quantities before, I was bowled over at the abundance of this stunning seaweed on the N Yorkshire coast. Swathes of the intertidal rocks are literally carpeted with the stuff! It tastes great straight from the rocks, or sprinkled on pasta.
