From the Zodiacs, there were many beautiful encounters with #humpbackwhales . They were seen lunge feeding but also socializing in small groups. They also approached us and were spy hopping, fluking, and pectoral fin waving.

Recently, our guests enjoyed a Zodiac cruise on the east coast of Liard Island. This was a new place for our team, so it had 'expedition' written all over it. Well-dressed we explored the area, full of massive icebergs. #Antarctica

Chinstrap penguins are very social.

During breeding season, #chinstrappenguins gather in enormous colonies on shore.

They also have many noted forms of communication, including flipper and head waving, bowing, preening, and gesturing.

#GerlacheStrait is a longstanding favorite among both our guides and guests.

This strait is characterized by amazing views of the mountains in the peninsula, as well as the spectacular icebergs that cross the strait.

We were graced with a few #snowpetrels flying around the ship. They were giving us a fantastic display as they caught the orange glow from the sunrise giving the appearance of the phoenix rising from the ashes.
