#OTD February 5th, 1631, Roger Williams, a founder of Providence Plantations, arrived in Boston aboard the ship Lyon. Within a year he moved to Plimoth, where he had a disagreement with officials-- Williams believed land should be purchased directly from Indigenous peoples.
