⚖️ On 24 April, Professor Akmal Saidov and Amb. Antti Karttunen opened the two-day course for forensic experts and medical staff from Uzbekistan's penitentiary system in Fergana, organized by the OSCE PCUz in collaboration with the National Center for Human Rights and local partners.




It was a pleasure to address to OSCE “PermanentCouncil and present recent key achievements of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan. Grateful for the support of all #OSCE participating States and particularly to Finland in the OSCE and Amb Vesa Häkkinen

On 15 May, Amb. Antti Karttunen presented his report to the OSCE #PermanentCouncil. He reviewed the recent activities of the PCUz and emphasised strong and close partnership with the Government of Uzbekistan as well as with civil society.


🇫🇮 Study trip to Finland for representatives of Ministry of Ecology 🇺🇿. 🌱From 12 to 16 May, the delegation engaged with Finnish public institutions and civil society organizations to explore how environmental legislation and sustainable resource management are implemented in practice.


🇳🇴 Yesterday, the PCUz welcomed a delegation from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by Amb. John Mikal Kvistad, PhD. 🤝 Both sides noted the successful collaboration between Norway and the OSCE to date and re-affirmed commitment for continued co-operation in the future.


🇺🇿 Strengthening cooperation and establishing long-term, friendly academic ties 🇫🇮 👉 With the support of the PCUz, representatives from the The University of World Economy and Diplomacy and its Diplomatic Academy undertook a study visit to Finland from 19 to 21 May.




🚴 On 30 May, Amb. Antti Karttunen opened the VI Cycling Marathon in Djizak for 100 preschoolers to promote environmental awareness, green mobility & sustainable development. 👉 Earlier in 2025, 500 balance bikes were donated & instructors were trained to deliver cycling education.

🤝On 11 June, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen visited the PCUz office where she met with staff members. 🇫🇮 During the visit, she outlined Finland in the OSCE's priorities and engaged with staff members. #OSCE25FI
