C - Andrew Meyer #75, UTEP

Not a lot of UTEP film available - but from what i've found, Meyer is intriguing.

I could see him being a player who is stashed on the practice squad in 2024 and then moves into an IOL backup role on the 53 in 2025.

Patrick Paul, LT #76 Houston ⏩ Miami

Take a seat.

Welcome to the most extensive 2023 cut up thread of Paul's film that you will find.

It is mostly left up to your interpretation.

If you enjoy it, please RT to spread to others.

eric smith Omar Kelly On Suamataia vs Paul, he is shorter, with smaller arms, lower athleticism(RAS), and a lower PFF (Productivity)-67 vs 81. (ie Needs more coaching up)

He is a little faster(5.04 40 vs 5.13 40). A reasonable choice who may succeed.

I'm happy with the Paul choice.

Patrick Paul, meet Terron Armstead.

I have seen numerous posts of concern over Paul giving up his chest or how 'grabby' he can be. I don't know how he gets away with it, but Armstead has made a career out of doing exactly that.

Armstead clearly better, but there are parallels.

S - Mark Perry #3, TCU

Pretty close to the Grier mold of DBs. A little heavier and that maybe shows up in his SS that is a little off the mark. Played SS in TCU's 3-3-5 defense.

Look for him to compete as an option to back up Poyer as a box safety.

C - Andrew Meyer #75 UTEP

Not sure if I have the concentration for a full-season cut-up of Meyers or Jones like I did for Patrick Paul (unless there's a lot of interest in it).

But, here's a cutup thread of Meyer vs. La Tech

Here is an example of where Paul can continue to improve. Initial set (1st 2 steps) get him too far outside vs. getting vertical which causes feet to panic. Very fixable.

Then, his level/hands are too high. If his hands get lower, he still puts this pass rusher in the ground.

RT/RG - Jake Hornibrook #73, Duke

Started at RT for Duke. Slid in to RG when Monk was injured vs. UConn with ease. Not invited to combine. Limited testing a Pro Day, but his height, weight, short shuttle, and 3 cone all fall comfortably within the Grier mold for OL.

Dolphins Receipts I'm not standing on a soap box to argue he's not 6'6, but his Combine and Pro Day measurements both say 6'5.

The bigger limiting factor considering Paul at guard is the arms that are 3' longer.

On the latest Scouting Combine:

eric smith mentions it’s Mike McDaniel’s first year having a first round pick

Do you trust Grier to get a player McDaniel wants?
