🚨🚨SB 1027 is on the Senate Floor agenda TODAY🚨🚨 SB 1027 is an effort to take power away from voters and give it back to politicians by limiting how many initiative petition signatures can come from each county.

In fairness, they probably should be ashamed to say this out loud...

SB1027 is being debated as we speak. Sen. Bullard was asked what percentage of the vote is required to pass a state question- It took him two follow-ups to figure it out. The guy trying to pass the bill couldn’t tell us how many votes it takes. Really, Oklahoma?

Senate Minority Leader Kirt is asking the questions Republicans don’t know how to answer. Just another day in the Oklahoma State Legislature- except this bill would rip away Oklahomans’ right to petition by making the process nearly impossible.

Sen. Goodwin- “One Person, One Signature, One Vote” SB1027 means that some voters have more power than others depending on your zip code. Why even have one person one vote at this point? Let’s go back to 1965, everyone!

Sen. Bullard says we’re “restoring a republic” by passing this bill. You heard it here first folks, the way we “restore our republic” is by making the tools for direct participation, that our state founders put in place, impossible. This is a power grab, plain and simple.

And in the Trump era apparently protected speech under the 1st amendment is also a “privilege, not a right.”
