Ugh, just emptied hoover and filter. Dust everywhere. It's never like in the adverts is it? Still good exposure routine i guess. Wiped myself and hoover over afterwards though.

Formulation sessions with NHS reach fifth session now. Almost finished talking about my life. Looks increasingly likely I'll be getting an ADHD and Autism test soon.

Today I had part one of two Sensory Profile session. Yes, the powers that be at the mental health team think this will be beneficial ...

Update: nothing from an OCD perspective. I just trundle on trying to live a restricted life. I'm still awaiting an autism assessment (unexpected technical issues it seems). I have however got a referral for help with finding suitable employment. That will be interesting!!

Update: I stopped private therapy 3 months ago. The guy is fantastic but i was not very fantastic at doing any of the ERP.

Update: Autism assessment - still not happened. Unsure why as it's been two months since referral. I had expected an update by now.

There's decent OCD self-help videos out there but it's very rare to see videos that address the effects of long-term engrained OCD. When you're 25 years + into OCD impacting EVERYTHING in your life all that time, it really is another level of help needed.

As mid-life crisis thoughts are becoming the norm for me, i wonder how much of an impact OCD has had on my relationships. Well, I'm single, only one short relationship during my 25 years of OCD and a few good female friends have come and go. Yup, OCD has screwed me up good.

1st (of 4) IPS Session today. Went very well although we didn't really get past the basics of an introduction and all the immediate forms. Next week it'll be extracting my employment history and "desires".

I should add I'm quite busy as an unemployed person as I have 5 volunteering roles although they won't pay the bills of course and I still know I can contribute to society IF I can find the right job with the right hours/location.

Any of my followers with long-term OCD (at least 20 years) where you've found yourself now unemployed and almost immune to treatment?

OCD Guy (@ocd_guy_uk) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This is not going to be a good few months for me as one of my long-standing contamination fears is soon to be a reality with items from a certain building soon to be unleashed on the public. Of course, the public won't care like I do. My life could be very restricted again.

Latest from the NHS = nothing. It's been over a month since the lady from the mental health team who said she would keep me updated last rang me. So, no news on my report, no news on my autism assessment and no news on any other help.

It's now a year since i was back on my mental health team's list and all they've done is assessed me extensively, had me explore autism support (didn't help) and failed to get me an autism or adhd assessment. Even more importantly, I've had no counselling etc from them.
