Beyond excited to share our first genomics preprint led by the amazing jenna robinson and Gem Flint. We have demonstrated that G4-structures contribute to epigenetically induced chemo-resistance in ovarian cancer. See thread below for more info! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Menopause or something more? Ovarian cancer symptoms - like bloating, tummy pain, and tiredness - can be confused with menopause, especially as ovarian cancer often develops around the time of menopause. Sadly, this overlap means that too many women are diagnosed late.

sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Great to see our paper from UKCTOCS in EBioMedicine today. The window period for detection of ovary cancer early stage disease (pre clinical detectable phase) is only ~12months. The invivo tumour doubling time is ~2.9 months.

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Day. If nothing is done to change the status quo, 8 million lives will be lost to ovarian cancer by the year 2050, the World Ovarian Cancer Coalition reports. Too many cases of this cancer are missed in the early stages, when they would be easier

Ready for super-G4s? We identified clusters of G4s in intergenic regions that act as super-enhancers in ovarian cancer cells. These are de novo super-enhancers that are not underpinned by canonical epigenetic marks, supporting the epigenetic role of G4s rdcu.be/evXtf
