This morning, at Nyanza-Kicukiro Genocide Memorial, Amb. Wang Xuekun joined athletes from Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and DRC to pay tribute to the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi. The athletes are here for the Kungfu Genocide Memorial Tournament 2024 hosted by RKWF -Rwanda kungfu Wushu Federation .

Every April 11th, a memorial ceremony is held at this site where abandoned refugees were murdered in cold blood.This is a burial place for more than 105,600 victims of the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi, from where nearly 3,000 of them were killed.

1/2.On the evening of April 11, 1994 between 5:00 p.m and 8:00 p.m; after being abandoned by those who were supposed to protect them. Like many other sites across the country, this memorial commemorates all the victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi.

1/3.But it is also a reminder of the international community's failure to prevent genocide. Only about 100 people survived at this site; rescued by the Rwandan Patriotic Army who were leading the liberation struggle and who were coming from Remera towards Rebero.

The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Chief of Defence Staff, Gen MK Mubarakh presided over the pass out ceremony of an Infantry Brigade today at the Combat Training Centre in Gabiro. The brigade has just completed an intensive six-month advanced infantry course. bit.ly/3SFtHaH
