Delighted to announce I’m leading a 2024 NHMRC Ideas grant. I recognise good science got us here, but with just 11% funded, luck plays a sig role - very thankful to my supportive institution & collaborators (incl co-CIs Jeff Craig Karina Allen Kate Fairweather & Katrina Scurrah).

The festive season can be particularly difficult for people with eating disorders - and we don't always know who's struggling. These holidays (and all year round), a reminder to not comment on people's bodies or what someone is/is not eating.

It is hard to understand RISK scores as humans - PGC Consortium speaks against embryo selection using polygenic risk. I hope this does not continue or spread further. Ethical implications are huge, as are a fundamental misunderstanding of this science. science.org/content/articl…

This is a huge issue from a collaborative perspective, as well an individual leadership. If the results are known it would be good to share them embargoed out of respect of researcher time. Don’t care when they make it public but we need to know to be effective in our jobs.
