A lot of kids say they “want to” play in college. Few kids show want in their daily actions and focus. It is so special when it is there. And I don’t think the kids are to blame. They need better information/guidance and need to be in environments where they are challenged.

For every MLB hitter w/great bat speed, there are hundreds (probably thousands) of minor league/college/high school kids with them same bat speed who will never be good enough HITTERS to be a big leaguer. Not having bat speed is a problem. Having it isn't a solution.
