Thank you to the Taoiseach @SimonHarris TD for visiting us while he was in Kerry yesterday. The Taoiseach met with the NPWS regional staff and heard more about our work to reintroduce the White-tailed Eagle. He released the last of this year’s chicks back into the wild.

We would like to thank everyone who turned out in the wind and rain at the dancing at the Crossroads/Boxty at the Bothy event at Letterkeen last Monday.  A massive thank you to all that helped make this evening such a great success, celebrating our music, song and dance.

The Marsh Helleborine, scientifically known as Epipactis palustris, is a beautiful orchid found in various wetland areas in Ireland. Here are some interesting facts about it: Have you ever seen one of these orchids in the wild? 📷 Photo courtesy of Mike Brown #marshhelleborine

Soomaa National Park - Thanks to #SERE24 (sere2024.org), organisers for taking us to such a special place. Rannoch rush, now extinct in Ireland, is common in the site. Seeing it again feels like meeting a distant relative you haven't seen in a while.

Good news for biodiversity! This rare beauty has reappeared in Killarney National Park after almost 130 years. Yellow Birds-Nest was discovered by our Conservation Rangers at Killarney National Park while they were doing routine surveying work. #noticenature
