After seeing #FantasticFour    Matt Shakman is on my list of directors I'd like to see make a James Bond film. A focused narrative with good characterization throughout and well crafted action sequences that I felt genuine tension in. The retro 60s aesthetic is great, too!

There's a good contingent of people glad that the writer of Peaky Blinders will bring a new edge to James Bond. I'm glad the co-writer of The Detectives may bring back the fun to 007 for Bond 26.

I grew up during the Roger Moore era. The rear projection close-ups and swapping to wide shots of Martin Grace were part of the charm. But when I saw Timothy Dalton jump onto that moving jeep and hang on for real during closeups, everything changed for me about who James Bond is.

And if you’d like the non-glossy explanation as to why Tim only did two #JamesBond films, look no further than our interview with former MGM/UA exec Jeff Kleeman: pod.fo/e/22167c

I forgot there was a mobile phone #EmergencyAlert test today, and for a second thought that everyone in the pub was going to go full on Kingsman.

I remember these moments in GoldenEye being lighthearted fun; a nudge and a wink to the Bond's outdated attitudes before. People were chuckling in the cinema.
