A long-awaited resolution on Gaza, demanding an immediate ceasefire, and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages

Finally the UN Security Council adopted a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during ramadan. With 32 000 lives lost and enormous humanitarian needs, a ceasefire and increased humanitarian access is urgently needed.

While the unbearable suffering in #Gaza continues through #Ramadan , the #UNSC has yet again failed to adopt a resolution calling for a ceasefire. Norway calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. The horror in Gaza must end.

Visiting the South Hebron Hills, we saw how the situation has worsened during the war. New outposts and settler roads being built. The village of Khirbet Zanuta completely destroyed after its residents fled due to settler violence. Important to keep focus also on the West Bank.

Yesterday, I visited the Amman New Camp, reaffirming Norway’s strong support for UNRWA and their crucial efforts in assisting Palestinian refugees in Jordan and across the region.
