Two years ago today we said goodbye to Det. Anthony Cornine. Anthony passed away on April 29, 2022 while off-duty. Anthony served NPPD with honor for nearly four years. He and his family will forever be in our prayers and in our hearts. Gone but never forgotten.

It was great seeing everyone Saturday during #BigTruckDay . Our Community Policing Officers, Special Response Team, and Drone Operators had great interactions with our community and our youth. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the tent! #CommunityOfUnity

Early Friday morning NPPD and MyFWC officers took part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run along U.S. 41. The goal is to raise awareness for Special Olympics and all the great work being done in our area. We thank everyone for their support along the way. #CommunityOfUnity

The North Port Police Department arrested 37-year-old David Bunn of North Port on charges of sexual battery on a child, interfering with the custody of a minor, and kidnapping.

Heads up! Friday morning NPPD will be taking part in the Special Olympics Torch Run. We will be running down U.S. 41 starting at around 7am & finishing up at Ortiz Blvd. The whole thing takes just a few minutes, so please be patient if you are out and about in the area.

It's that time of year when #Aligators are on the prowl, so keep an eye out.

This little dinosaur was spotted Tuesday in the Oasis community. Officers worked to relocate it. Everyone is okay.

Please don't feed, harass, or get too close to alligators. Don't be that person.
