Our neighbors needed help transferring a swarm of bees into a flow-hive. I know nothing about bee-keeping, so ran the smoker for my 11th gr son who learns apiary science from our community beekeepers.

The bees were confused & queenless, so we settled the swarm & added a queen.

Today we remember the victims and their families of the 1996 Port Arthur Massacre.

I had the privilege to visit the memorial in Tasmania last month and ponder the loss and legacy of these precious lives and how this tragedy became a moment of reckoning for our nation.

It's the best day of the year: olive harvest!

We cold press the olives for a year's supply of oil. Each olive variety carries a distinct flavor and we pour it on bread and salads and use it in cooking.

Thanks to our oldest son for this amazing capture: golden ash tree and rainbow.

Our free range pigs escaped their paddock, so Bear finally fulfills his long-term dream of being a farm dog.
