I need Daily Hive LA to launch. I need Kenneth Chan to write about the Oceanwide project (while he’s visiting Disney). Los Angeles could consider using imminent domain to take control of this site and build much needed public space, a school, and a mix of housing above it.

I chaired the Planning Commission in New Orleans and we met for hours on top of hours every other week. We rewrote the City’s entire zoning code! I enjoyed every minute …AND it was a massive time trap. Completely agree with Richard Wittstock and that truth applies almost everywhere.

When I moved to Dallas, Vancouver, and now Los Angeles, and inevitably there was a major weather event, I’ve said out loud some version of “we need to find out who the Margaret Orr is of this city!” or “Where is their Margaret Orr?!” Congrats on an irreplaceable career!
