UK average house prices increased by 3.4% over the year to June 2020 compared with 1.1% in the year to May 2020. The average UK house price was £238,000 in June 2020, £8,000 higher than in June 2019.

The highest ONS/Land Registry house price inflation in the year to June 2020 was in the East Midlands (4.5%), North West (4.4%), South West (4.3%) & London (4.2%). The lowest annual growth was in the North East (1.7%) & South East (2.1%).

The average house price in London in June 2020 was £490,495 (highest on record) according to ONS/Land registry. This is 3.6% higher than in May & 4.2% higher than a year ago, 64% higher than at the pre-crisis peak & more than double what it was back in 2004.
