#LTT started my day at 4.30 am with a book club - Learning that Transfers. Great discussions around the Power of ACT. To build on conceptual understanding we must ensure that we help our students to Acquire Connect and Transfer their learning.

@FunkyPedagogy Borrowing from Kalantzis’s & Cope’s work on multiliteracies, we need to stop seeing pedagogies as idealogical factions & more as “things we do to know” in our classrooms. Having a dynamic repertoire of activity types (esp. in ELA!) is powerful. Something I’ve been riffing on. ⤵️

SQ3R is a strategy for reading and studying. It is a sequence designed to increase retention and understanding by encouraging the reader to use each stage of the reading process intentionally, moving from small details to large ideas and back again. bit.ly/3f0g4Ov

Are there questions students can ask themselves while you’re teaching? That can guide and support their own thinking and awareness before, during, and after your teaching? bit.ly/2MGc6MY
