On March 10, 2024, Del passed away after an eight-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Del was a mother of one of our MSTP students. During her too-brief time here, Del was a teacher and therapist for children with autism at Wines Elementary School.

My mom saw her doc for years with stomach pain and acid reflux. Clear colonoscopy/EGD led to a psychosomatic diagnosis and years of psych meds. I wonder if a simple CT or labs could've caught her pancreatic tumor before it spread to liver and took her life in less than 8 months..
