Who would be interested in a video with me and eldest on th course. I can show you how I work with her as a new golfer and a parent. Retweet if you think it’s a good idea. 👍

A narrow downswing TYPICALLY leads to: hitting down too much, an open club face, an overly vertical shaft in transition, a stalled pivot and flipping through impact.....for starters. #andrewricegolf

What many golfers define as a “compensation” is merely an example of “positive variability”. A movement that achieves the task in different ways is not worse than a movement that achieves the task in a more consistent manner. The fact that the task is achieved is more important

I always ask my students to try and NOT be so fragile about their stance. You need to be able to control face and path from any stance then you use your stance to help with ideas. Golf tips seem to tell the opposite story. #PerfectGrip #PerfectStance #300yardCrap

Just hit one 427 on 18 The Open .. Guys would be hitting it in the burn in front of green 450+.. Carnoustie is baked out but greens are pure.. Never seen an Open this firm.. Will be an awesome week if it stays like this..

If you can't identify what your #golf club did to the ball at impact, it will severely limit your ability to improve your impact (and hence ball flight). You will be throwing darts in a dark room.

The amount of emails I get from players who say "last week I shot a 79 and then a week later I shot an 87. I just want to be more consistent" Look -Pro golfers will WIN a tournament shooting 63 and have a 73 thrown in (10 shot swing). Don't look to be more consistent - BE BETTER

My advice to freshman! You have four years of free mini tour golf. You are getting free strength training, free competition and free play! You will have a better experience if you think of it as turning pro. So act like and carry yourself like a true professional day 1!

I believe in the intelligence and ability of every golfer to understand good concepts and principles. Dumbing it down is an excuse at times for incomplete info THAT MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT. People can run businesses, households, pass drivers test can understand golf terminology.

It doesn't matter how great that swing motion looks, you will always be at the mercy of the subtle inevitable variations. Half an inch here - a couple of degrees there. Don't ignore this - learn how to turn the soup of variability into functionality

Adam Young Golf (@adamyounggolf) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Most golfers don’t have enough control of their attention to make a mechanical change to their swing on their own. A coach can control your attention, but unless you learn this skill yourself, the value of a lesson will be lower.
