As I mentioned earlier, CPN-UML leader Oli is an unreliable leader. Once again, he has reiterated the idea of left party unity in Nepal.

There are two types of political parties in Nepal: old and new. The recent successes of Balen, the RSP, and others outside of the traditional NC and UML, may not be sustainable in Nepalese politics, much like the RPP, the Maoists, Bibekshil, and Madhesi-based parties.

As I always argue, India is not Nepalis' preferred destination; it is a compulsion for many. This statement from a Nepali migrant says that we cannot find work in our village. And poor people do not have the money to go to another country. So we have to go to India for job.

What a fabulous argument! India abandoned its long-standing tradition of hosting the Nepali prime. If so, this raises India’s much-touted “Neighborhood First” policy. Extending an invitation to Oli could have reinforced New Delhi's claim that “Nepal is a special partner.”

I participated in the Prishtina Dialogue titled "Where the Balkans meet South Asia," organized jointly by PIPS in Prishtina and AIDIA in Kathmandu on November 25. Scholars from South Asia also attended and shared their perspectives on regional democracy. AIDIA Sajina Rai

Nepal is witnessing a political shake-up: old parties in turmoil, new ones emerging, Terai-based groups uniting, and ethnic identity parties aligning. With these shifts, 2025 promises to be a fascinating year for Nepal's political landscape. #NepalPolitics #PoliticalChurning

In the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna was distraught with the Kshatriyas for their vows regarding everything, including the famous Bhisma Pratigya. Gagan Thapa is contemplating retirement from politics at the age of 55. Pratigyas are harmful. #Nepal
