I think it was mostly nice for me because sports fandom on the internet and even inside of an arena can feel absolutely absurd and sometimes unapproachable to me, so it was cool to just chop it up with some good people, joke about our silly lil sports teams & keep it moving

so, assuming the Timberwolves don’t make nba history, I’ve grown an even softer spot for the mavs because of those five folks & while I hope mavs fans enjoy it all, I especially hope those five have a great time wherever they are

Just about our favorite old scene bands and shit, two of them showed me matching MCR tattoos, we bonded over a couple live music venues in Texas. It was just really cool. Like of course at the end we did the “hope yr team loses lol” type thing but it was a lovely interaction

I brought a copy of Hanif’s book to Game 1 as a talisman in hopes of finding him to chat Wolves. It worked. His openness and generosity blew me away. So grateful for our conversation on fandom, romance, nostalgia and miracles.
