Today’s the day! We’re excited to celebrate the implementation of the #UNCRCScotland Act. Keep an eye on our channels to see what we’re doing to ensure children’s rights are at the heart of all of Aberlour.’s work. One way is through our Rights and Participation Network.

Today is a hugely important day for #Scotlands children and young people as the #UNCRC becomes law! A time to celebrate and thank those who understood the importance of this becoming law and had the determination and passion to campaign, advocate and see it through!!

What a historic day for children and young people in Scotland today! Hugely significant milestone and I am so grateful to and proud of all the children, young people, adults supporting them and previous commissioners who all worked so hard to get here!

Incorporating the UNCRC into domestic law is the most important thing we can do to protect children's rights in law, and from today it is a reality in Scotland. Incorporation is a powerful new tool, and there is a lot of work ahead. But today should also be about celebration.

The tragic death of a child in Polmont has been reported. Our thoughts go to their family and everyone who knew, and cared for them. Prison is no place for a child. Scottish Parliament passed a law committing to no child going to prison. This reinforces the urgency of implementing it.
