#BREAKING The Senate passed a bill legalizing single-game sports betting in Canada. Bill B-218 now off for royal assent. In Ontario, Attorney General Doug Downey tells me he hopes the service will be available by the end of the year. Currently you have to bet on several outcomes

Congratulations to Kevin Waugh, Canadian Gaming Association and senators who voted to make history. Single event sports wagering will be a huge component of the safe and regulated iGaming market Ontario is working urgently to launch this calendar year. 1/2

Leeds-Grenville-Lanark continues to lead the way - 1st in Ontario for 1st doses at 89.4%, and 1st in Ontario for fully vaccinated at 80.2%. A big thank you to everyone administering and to those on the pointy end of the needles, too. #TwoDoseSummer

To better protect and support victims of sexual assault in Dufferin County our government is investing almost $1 million to support the establishment of a new Sexual Assault Centre. This investment will enable Family Transition Place to begin providing critical services in this region in Oct.

Major kudos to Doug Downey and team on making the measures that allowed for temporary patio extensions permanent. The hospitality industry has a long way to go an patio programs have been super helpful to many and will be an important part of recovery #onpoli

Great news for Ontario’s bars and restaurants today. With today’s Red Tape Bill, we’re one step closer to making the simplified process to extend patios, permanent. ✅Less burden for businesses ✅Flexibility for municipalities ✅Choice for consumers #onpoli

We’ve reached another important milestone in our work to support children and make family law easier to access across Ontario. After expanding the Dispute Resolution Officer program to Welland and Kitchener earlier this month, we have now launched it in Kingston as well.

Local restaurants and bars win when municipalities capitalize on our government’s changes to support jobs and businesses in Ontario’s vibrant hospitality sector. Cheers to the 1,200 patios created or expanded this year in Toronto! John Tory

As investigations and prosecutions of dangerous criminal networks grow increasingly complex, we are taking measures to ensure police and prosecutors have the tools and resources they need to hold offenders accountable and stand up for victims as they seek justice.

Keeping our communities safe.   This #CPWeek2022, let’s stand with the women & men on the frontlines, the courts & legal staff, 9-1-1 operators, police officers & those who serve — so Ontarians can go to work, kids can play in the park & we can all live our lives safely.
