A tired guy at the bar scans his phone, sighs, looks up, says to nobody, "One of the biggest justifications for the massive Ford Class Carrier $13 billion price tag were, ah, big improvements in damage control." He shifts in is chair, takes a sip, and turns back to his crossword.

FDR: "To change anything in the Na-a-vy is like punching a featherbed. You punch it with your right and you punch it with your left until you are finally exhausted, and then you find the damn bed just as it was before you started punching-Smoking out the mattress is the only way"

If this Gulf thing going to be an island-hopping campaign, let's start hearing about how some islands are getting completely cut off and are getting no resupply/reinforcement.

If the strategy is to grab islands in the Gulf, then there'd better be an iron-clad blockade of those islands already in place. Nothing getting through. No boats, birds, nothing. If not, then there needs to be accountability all the way up the entire command chain.

With Iran off the table, maybe Congress can get back to town next week and spend a few days figuring out how to advance the SHIPS For America Act.
