Schools do far more than teach children. Good mental and physical well-being are essential to good learning. Yesterday, I announced £1.25m for school counselling services to deal with an anticipated increase in demand as a result of coronavirus.

Finally, after 2 long months, children are legally allowed to play with friends again. This is great news for their mental health. We urge all parents to get booking some garden playdates - even if your children have siblings, playing with friends will do them the world of good.
