My first sighting of the new moon this evening, a very thin 1.5% waxing crescent as it heads towards the horizon.

The Crescent Moon (Hilal) of Shawwal 1445, age 24:39 hours and illumination 1.39%, was captured and seen with the unaided eye after sunset on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, from Fleetwood, UK.

And what spectacular fashion it showed up tonight in the UK for 4million Muslims!
