An important message from the Humboldt-Toiyabe Forest Fire Management Officer, Gwen Sanchez.

Morning update for the #SlinkFire. Command of the fire has transitioned a Type 3 Incident Management Team, Nevada Team 2, and full suppression work continues. The fire is now 26,752 acres and 71% contained. inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7105/

Resources are on scene of a new start on the Ely Ranger District in the Schell Creek Range. The #MiddleCreekFire started last night and has grown to 151 acres. The fire was lightning caused. inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/6779/

The #MiddleCreekFire is now estimated at 200 acres. Fixed wing aircraft are now on scene and aiding firefighters on the ground in suppression efforts. Forest campgrounds near the fire area are being evacuated as a precaution.

The #MiddleCreekFire is estimated to be 250-300 acres and is located south of Kalamazoo Summit between Middle Creek and East Creek. Campgrounds in the area have been evacuated as a precaution. The fire is 0% contained. #ElyRD inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/6779/

The #CherryGulchFire is currently at 90% containment and anticipating 100% containment by today. Total current acreage is at 15,859 acres. Firefighters will be on scene this week to monitor. Smoke may remain in the area for the next week or so, due to heavy fuels in the area.
