Getting my summer session episode on language ready, and am reminded how excellent this piece is. Stay tuned for an episode on person first and identity first language Identity-First Language - Autistic Self Advocacy Network - go.shr.lc/3srMW8P via Shareaholic

I am trying to learn more about what inclusion looks like in all levels of school. This episode from MCIE was a great start for my learning about middle and high school.

Steve Silberman was a writer for whom autistic people were never just a subject. We were his peers and his friends. Many autistic writers-including me-owe a great deal to his support. He will be missed so much.

A huge loss to so many. Sending support to those who knew and loved him. Sending gratitude for all the ways he expanded my understanding. RIP Steve Silberman

Deeply understand this sentiment. My adult friends who have recently been diagnosed were all “perfect” girls who couldn't quite understand why everything looked so easy to everyone else.
