Our first vagus nerve stimulation paper is published Brain Stimulation now. We show that acute taVNS reduces gastric frequency highlighting efferent effects of VNS. Work w/ Vanessa Teckentrup | @glassybrain.bsky.social & @neuro_bird. tVNS_digest sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Do you want to learn about insular connectivity profiles in depression? Are you a scientist who desperately wants to attend a cool conference or just self-isolating at home and interested in some fancy science? Either way, join Vanessa Teckentrup | @glassybrain.bsky.social and me for our slot OHBMX

#OHBMx-46 ✳ #talk Vanessa Teckentrup Vanessa Teckentrup | @glassybrain.bsky.social*, S Neubert @neuro_bird, T Kircher, A Krug, I Nenadić, D Grotegerd, U Dannlowski, M Walter, N B Kroemer Nils Kroemer *University of Tübingen ...

OHBMX @neuro_bird Nils Kroemer (1) Sensing their bodily state is often difficult for people with depression. Such imbalances in interoceptive vs exteroceptive processing have been associated with signaling in the insular cortex. But what makes the insula special? #OHBMx media.giphy.com/media/wkGmOrQN…

OHBMX @neuro_bird Nils Kroemer (3) We calculated similarity (correlation) and density (shift function) for 6 insular subregions (anterior vs posterior) based on resting-state fMRI in N=850. A greater similarity in functional connectivity (FC) profiles would then indicate a loss of segregation. #OHBMx

OHBMX @neuro_bird Nils Kroemer (6) In sum, we found an impaired segregation of functionally distinct signaling in the insula. This increased reliance on interoceptive signals linked to the anterior insula might contribute to the pathophysiology in depression. #OHBMx media.giphy.com/media/i7kT5FOb…

Very happy to finally see this out in NeuroImage! It was a fantastic experience to observe how RegisteredReports really enforce thinking about all the intricacies of a research project before starting the data acquisition. Also, big kudos to the team neuroMADLAB 🙌

[1/5] Late to the party because I was busy proofing the typeset version… but here it is! After ~1.5 years of work, we’ve finally published our research: "A metric-based framework for climate-smart conservation planning" in Ecological Applications doi.org/10.1002/eap.28…

Very happy to share that I will start my PhD in multiple-use spatial planning @UqEnvironment and University of Exeter as part of the next QUEX PhD cohort! I'll be working with an amazing supervisor team from both unis @ Anthony Richardson @_KMETCALFE @danielcdunn Jason Everett

Excited to team up with Tin Buenafe to geek out over spatial data analysis and prioritization in R 🗺️ Thanks for hosting us R-Ladies Santa Barbara !

ICYMI, Tin Buenafe and Sandra Neubert knocked our socks off last night during their Spatial Workflows workshop! 🗺️🐢 You can find the event recording, slides, and workshop materials all on our GitHub: github.com/rladies/meetup…
