Public librarians in Namibia, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda & Gambia are visiting Illinois & Wisconsin libraries as part of AfLIA Leadership Academy. The two Nigerian librarians in the group of young leaders were denied visa😭😭. Beatrice Ampadu Cathryn Ndeshipanda Gideon Pranisha Parag

We met up with the Public Library Association Leadership Academy in Chicago. The networking, the ideas being shared & the learning is worth the long trip 😉. First, we had presentations of the projects being done in the different African countries. #PublicLibraries

Time to get to The Second City! This was the only picture I could get before it really started! Comedians act & improvise, right? We learned that requires thinking & listening, yes listening. We put up barriers in information services when we don't listen, or think as #librarians

Noticed too that The Second City is a great place for creatives to hone their skills. This would work out well in African countries with definite demographic youth bulge. Young people need spaces where they can learn & explore their talents on their way to Becoming!
