HOSTILE WATERS (1997) is a BBC/HBO film 'based on true events' concerning the alleged collision between nuclear submarines K-219 and USS Augusta in 1986. Although K-219 did sink after suffering an explosion, the U.S. Navy and Soviet officials denied it was due to a collision.
