1,150 pounds. This is what Penny, the largest turtle weighed at Matura beach to date recorded. A record so far for sure. Penny the turtle was named after Min. of Planning, Economic Affairs and Development's Minister Pennelope Beckles🌐 by Nature Seekers for her efforts regarding turtle conservation.



Our partner Nature Seekers protects the nesting habitat of leatherback turtles in Matura Beach, Trinidad. 💪 With the help of local volunteers, beach clean-ups are an important part of keeping the area pristine for turtle mating season at Matura Beach. 🐢
