Last week, the Milton District High co-op students wrapped up our Secret Life of Coyotes program at P.L. Robertson! 🐾 This week they are jumping right into our Project Feather program at E.W. Foster Public School! We’ve also transitioned from shorts & tshirts back into our hats & mitts 🥶
We explored the biodiversity of bird species found in Makwendam P.S. schoolyard with Mrs. Rogers Grade 6 class yesterday! Ss observed & identified many cool birds including a Red-tailed Hawk, 4 Northern Flickers, a Ruby-crowned Kinglet & the uncommon Yellow-bellied Sapsucker!
Our favourite way to start the day!! Thanks for hosting us Dr Charles Best PS Cameron Steltman 🪶🪺🐦⬛
Grade 4 Ss - "Do you know a lot about plants? I'm the class Horticulturist!" 🌱 Just because we are learning about birds doesn't mean we don't explore everything else! It's all connected! Thanks to jasmine pereira (she/her) Gr. 4's for sharing all their nature knowledge with us 🙂
On our program this morning at West Oak Public School we had a Bald Eagle appear and put on quite the show for us! The first time we’ve seen a Bald Eagle 🦅 during our Project Feather program! A magical moment.
I spy a ..... "Bald Eagle" West Oak Public School. It was the perfect visitor, thank you Nature’s N.E.A.R! for your amazing guidance and support.
Thank you again Nature’s N.E.A.R! for allowing us to explore our community through binoculars and discover the life of birds! 🦜 @ALXCoyotes
Yesterday, the Nature’s NEAR team enjoyed the beautiful day helping out at the last HDSB Elem HPE & Athletics cross country meet of the season! Great job to all the students - we had so much fun cheering you on! 🏃🏃♀️👏
We are looking forward to participating in the Halton Hills Forest Festival at Acton District School next week! In preparation, we practiced our new activity with @mrelseclass Gr.6 class today! Thanks for your positive feedback & participation. Bonus: found a praying mantis afterwards!
Yesterday, we participated in the Halton Hills Forest Festival put on by Acton District School Gr. 12 leadership class! Amazing job to all the Gr. 4s who saved the forest from an evil curse by playing our plant concentration game! A great day fostering Environmental Leadership 🌲🍂
