GSI signed a MoU with the CWC and the NWIC for data sharing and knowledge exchange. The agreement was signed through a VC by Shri Asit Saha, DG, GSI; Shri A.S. Goyel, Member (RM), CWC; and Shri R.K. Mishra, Director, NWIC.

The collaboration will facilitate the sharing of hydrological, rainfall, and real-time data for use in basin-specific glaciological and landslide studies.

An MoU is signed on January 10, 2024, between CWC, NWIC, and GSI for collaboration on various studies and initiatives. These include Glacial Lake monitoring, GLOF (Glacial Lake Outburst Flood) studies, GLOF Early Warning System (EWS), Hydrological and meteorological data sharing,

The MoU is signed virtually by Shri A.S. Goel, Member (River Management) from CWC, Shri Asit Saha, Director General, GSI, and Shri R.K. Mishra, Director, National Water Informatics Centre.

This collaboration will support integrated studies related to glaciers and assist in the preparation of DPRs for water resource projects.
