In his Welsh chronicle Cronicl o Wech Oesoedd, completed c.1552, Elis Gruffydd reports rumours the Princes in the Tower were murdered by servants of Richard III. He says one was smothered, and the other had his throat cut after trying to flee, 'a deed so cruel and so merciless'.
