So want to head down to the Palestinian solidarity encampment at UoM but I'm days away from thesis submission. Sending virtual solidarity to the staunch students and colleagues protesting the University's and Australia's complicity in genocide.

Join me and many excellent coauthors on Wed as we launch Australian Politics at a Crossroads. The book addresses many pressing challenges for Australia, including climate (the focus of my chapter with Robert Thomson).

Given this, it seems now's a good time to plug a chapter I recently coauthored with Robert Thomson on Aus climate action over the past decade.

Read about what set back Aus climate action (surprise surprise, it wasn't the Greens voting down the CPRS) here:

Even if the Greens only manage to pick up one or two seats in Brisbane, with a third of the vote counted, the party has a primary vote almost equal to Labor's. That's a massive feat.

Fantastic news today that Gomeroi people have won their appeal in the Federal Court against the disgraceful, racist Native Title Tribunal judgement authorising Santos to proceed with the Pilliga coal seam gas project.

Santos no longer have authorisation to proceed! For now... 1/

Monash Uni… where the Vice Chancellor who tried to retroactively vary the enterprise agreement so as to avoid back payments for wage theft is then farewelled at a $127,000 function. This is the corporate university. Time for theguardian.com/australia-news…

“We fear that we are witnessing a genocide unfold in plain view, and believe that Overland and the broader community have a moral responsibility to call attention to this horror.”

Proud of this crew. Overland is its workers, its board, its readers, its writers. We move as one.

Not home this but reading the brilliant Evelyn Araluen's Dropbear while away reminds me that without justice there will be no peace. From the river to the sea, always was always will be.
