I completed my 65th marathon in Salt Lake City, with Utah as my 38th state. My finish time was 4 hours, 19 minutes which reflects the challenges I had with the altitude and climb. A fun race and I’ve really enjoyed getting to see a few of the sights in the area.

The kids loved our dessert after dinner last night: a family trip to Over the Top in Pleasant Hill made even sweeter with proceeds being shared with Delaware Elementary!

Congrats to our Des Moines community for hosting an incredible IRONMAN Triathlon 70.3 event yesterday. The community support, including encouragement from police officers and fire fighters there keeping us safe, was outstanding. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen!

Great to have basketball in the Knapp Center again. Rough night shooting and a tough OT loss, but there is clearly a lot of potential in this Drake team. Shake it off and keep those chins up.

I’m grateful for all of our veterans and the sacrifices they—and their families—have made. I’m especially appreciative of the service of my grandfather and great grandfather as we spend our first Veterans Day without Grandpa Art today.

Spent some time on the doors talking with union members about the special election in West Des Moines next month. Met some very enthusiastic Renee Hardman for Iowa supporters who were excited to make their plan to vote.

Fun day at the Rehoboth Seashore Marathon where I finished with a time of 4:14:14. Delaware was my 39th state on my marathon journey and this was a very well run event.
