This was my first CSPAN experience with callers from across the US. Americans are concerned about their drinking water and we need more scientists out there to answer their questions.

All that rain at the opening ceremonies made swimming in the Seine too dangerous for training. Fingers crossed for sunny skies before the triathlon competition! apnews.com/article/olympi…

Can you please RT this so that @geico can respond? She is a fantastic Baltimore City Public Schools art teacher who taught my children and is pregnant again after a devastating miscarriage. After all she’s been through I would hate for Emo Mrs. Frizzle to bring a newborn home to this situation.

Asheville is more than 300 miles from a coast and situated in the Blue Ridge mountains at an elevation of over 2,100 feet. With climate change, every place is "coastal," every home in jeopardy. Follow your local newspapers in North Carolina for updates.

This "electrical outage" shut down the entire track from New York to DC today. I just watched Hakeem Jeffries detrain in Baltimore Penn Station to probably take a cab to DC. We need America's infrastructure to work and that includes the train system in the NE corridor.

The NYC #Legionnaires outbreak has grown to 22 cases, with 1 death. Cases have been reported in Central Harlem (ZIP codes 10027, 10030, 10035, 10037 & 10039) & bordering communities. Sounds like cooling towers (multiple?) may be the source??? nyc.gov/site/doh/about…

We actually don't have good evidence to back this up: "In lower-income neighborhoods, buildings are more likely to have plumbing systems and cooling towers that aren’t maintained as well, leading to a higher incidence of Legionella bacteria" nytimes.com/2025/08/06/nyr…

To help meet a federal mandate to replace lead service lines, Johns Hopkins researchers and community groups are working together to engage Baltimore residents. Their efforts are driving progress toward safer water and healthier communities. bit.ly/4mDbozB
