Nurses are burning out. Sick time is off the charts. Many are retiring. Many are looking elsewhere for work. Some looking to leave the profession altogether. Recruiting is difficult & retention is a joke. Our beloved profession is broken.

1st day complete in new seconded role as Theatre Matron. Learnt lots and met some hardworking and supportive individuals. Looking forward to the next few weeks and months. Would find it beneficial to network with other theatre matron from other trusts to enhance my knowledge 😊

I made a mistake last night at work, no harm but a mistake. I couldn't be more grateful for an open culture in the hospital where I could discuss my mistake with a senior doctor, follow internal procedure and feel supported to learn. We all play a part in this culture.

Help required!! Can anybody help me with the manual formula to calculate the number of staff (in hours) that can be off at any given time on annual leave from a team of staff. I used to know it many years ago until the eroster took over 🤣🤣
