And just like that, it’s been a whole year since I came home to Blackburn with Darwen Council Not just ‘home,’ but back to a dream job as Comms Manager for Place. And what a year it’s been..! Flicking through my pics it’s hard to believe it’s only been 12 months… forever proud to be BwD!

So, here it is, my official first Comms Award - and a special one at that too! 🌈 Last night our Resilience Hub campaign with Hotfoot Design scooped Best Digital Marketing Campaign for the Public Sector at the #NorthernDigitalAwards 🏆 Crying happy tears this morning! 🥲

I’m always in awe when I drive past this building! Now, Blackburn with Darwen Council is looking to buy Imperial Mill to safeguard its future and create new employment and cultural opportunities. A massive well done to my lovely colleague Clare who’s worked so hard to get it to this point!

Did you know that the first-ever Western was filmed right here in Blackburn! 🤠 It was captured by pioneering filmmakers ‘Mitchell & Kenyon!’ One of these recently transformed shops once belonged to them & in 1994 a huge haul of their negatives were discovered there!

Another trip down Memory Lane… Writing the comms for my old youth centre which could soon double in size! It comes on the back of Blackburn with Darwen Council working with partners to secure £8m through the Youth Investment Fund. It was the most awarded to any one place in the country!
