Five years ago today, 44-year-old Henadz Shutau was shot in the back of the head by a plainclothes soldier during protests in Brest. He died days later in a coma. Instead of prosecuting the killer, Belarusian courts blamed Shutau — posthumously. His friend got 10 years.

🕯️ Five years ago today, 25-year-old Alexander Vikhor died in police custody in Homel. He was arrested on his way to meet his girlfriend during the 2020 protests, brutally beaten, denied medical care — and left to die in a police van. No one was ever held accountable.
